The Schuylkill Navy (which hosts the Stotesbury Cup Regatta) and the PSRA (which run the Manny Flicks) are offering a Launch Pilot Certification Class this Saturday February 17, 2018 from 11am to 1pm at Crescent Boat Club. The link to sign up is posted on the Schuylkill Navy of Philadelphia’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/2063248690560851/.

The ability of Merion to have certified volunteer launch drivers is important to our role as a permanent member of the PSRA and as a club rowing out of boathouse row. As for driving a launch, prior volunteer parents will tell you it’s the best seat in the house to see how skilled our daughters are. The Schuylkill Navy and PSRA require certification for all volunteer launch drivers.

If you are interested in becoming certified to drive a launch during any of the regattas, you must attend. No prior boating experience is required!
